Convenient neighborhood in central Odessa

Kenwood Estates is a convenient suburban enclave near the center of Odessa, about 3 miles from downtown and about a mile from the University of Texas Permian Basin. "You're close to parks, schools and a hop, skip and jump to any retail you need," says Yvonne Rosas, an eXp Realty Realtor with over five years of experience. In addition to convenience, the area's larger lots, yards and quiet nature attract potential homebuyers. "Families in this neighborhood usually stay for more than five or seven years," Rosas says. Homes don't hit the market often since people rarely move around.

Murry H Fly Park is the main park in the neighborhood and sets up Christmas light displays during the holiday season. Kids enjoy the modest playground on artificial grass while parents supervise from nearby picnic tables. The park also has a basketball court and open fields with some oak trees scattered throughout the area. Overhead lights on the playground and basketball court light up the area for those enjoying the park when the sun goes down. Athletes appreciate nearby Jim Parker Park for its basketball court and tennis courts and the baseball field with an operational scoreboard and dugouts, which hosts little league games. "You definitely see a lot of families out and about at the parks, even later at night," Rosas says.
