Older part of town where homes rarely hit the market
The residential Ridgecrest West neighborhood sits on the western edge of Odessa, roughly 2 miles from downtown. The west side and central areas are the older parts of town as the east and north areas expand. The older areas tend to have more affordable prices, and a more historic Odessa feel that appeals to long-time residents. “Those on the west side love the west side,” says Deanna Bledsoe, a real estate professional and owner with Power Team Properties. “Our best friends live over there, and they refuse to leave.” The house prices in the neighborhood are higher than many central neighborhoods but still lower than the eastern and north areas, with the median sales price being around $226,025, compared to $349,000 for the city of Odessa.
