Affordable suburban neighborhood near the medical district and Floyd Gwin Park

Two miles west of Downtown Odessa and 1 mile south of Floyd Gwin Park sits Rochester Heights. “It’s an old neighborhood that is priced affordably,” says Yvonne Rosas, a Realtor with eXp Realty. “It’s also close to the medical district.” The neighborhood’s proximity to the medical district is attractive for those who frequent the district or work in the medical field. Floyd Gwin Park has a skate park, pool and recreational spaces. The neighborhood’s price point, nearby restaurants, and proximity to downtown add to its appeal.

Ranch-style and contemporary homes along sidewalk-lined streets

Along the wide streets of Rochester Heights sit brick ranch-style and newer contemporary homes. “These homes were built in the 50s and 60s and are smaller homes that are between 1,200 and 1,600 square feet,” Rosas says. Many of these houses feature one-car garages or carports. Many residents also park on the streets, which are wide enough to accommodate parking on both sides. Properties in Rochester Heights have sold for between $140,000 and $220,000. The neighborhood is relatively walkable, with many streets including sidewalks.
