Arbor Grove
Quiet residential streets
The narrow residential streets of Arbor Grove are lined with sidewalks, some on both sides in certain areas, where residents can walk their dogs. Mature northern red oak, pecan and evergreen trees can be found in front of and alongside the homes they share front yards with, providing spots of shade during the warm summer months. Driveways wide enough for one vehicle lead to the brick facades of ranch-style and occasional modern Craftsman-style homes. Houses in this community were built in the late 1950s through the late 1960s and come in a wide range of prices. Potential homebuyers can expect a range from $125,000 for a two-bedroom house to $500,000 for a larger three-bedroom home with amenities to pair.Shopping and snacks a short drive away
Because this is a quiet neighborhood, residents must explore outside the community for most dining and shopping opportunities. Those looking for a snack to start the day can head just across Northwest 50th Street to pick up a fruit pie from Arbuckle Mountain Original Fried Pies, then head to the local Winco Foods for any grocery needs. Bunny’s Onion Burger is known for its onion rings and old-style burgers after spending the day shopping at Penn Square Mall. The mall is a 2-mile drive away via the Northwest Expressway and is home to Dillard’s, Macy’s, Foot Locker and more popular retailers.Events throughout the year
Arbor Grove’s proximity allows its residents to participate in events around the city, including those held at the Oklahoma State Fairgrounds. “People in the neighborhood go there a lot on the weekends,” explains Sarah Hibbs, a neighborhood resident who works locally. “There are events throughout the year like arts and crafts and different shows.” Residents can also enjoy youth baseball games and disc golf tournaments at Dolese Youth Park in the neighborhood.Putnam Pirates athletics are key
Students beginning their educational journey will head to Arbor Grove Elementary School, which is located in the community and has earned a C grade from Niche. Older students will head to James L. Capp Middle School before attending Putnam City High School, both of which have earned a B-minus grade from Niche. The home of the Pirates has an established athletic department and hosts the district’s primary sports stadium.Getting outside in Arbor Grove
Dolese Park, located in the neighborhood's northwest corner, is home to youth baseball games, disc golf courses and a trail surrounding the park’s duck pond. Will Rogers Gardens is situated in the southeast corner and is home to a rose garden, greenhouse and education center. “I always see people crossing the road on their way to the gardens while driving home from work,” Says Hibbs, in reference to the popularity of the gardens.Convenient commutes
With US Route 66 bordering the community to the south and I-235 bordering it to the east, getting to neighboring areas is convenient. Downtown Oklahoma City can be enjoyed via a short 8.6-mile drive along I-44 East and I-235 South. For further travel, residents can access Wile Post Airport, less than 3 miles away along Northwest 50th Street, and Will Rogers World Airport, a 12-mile drive along I-44.Health centers close by
Less than a mile north of the community sits a health center that is home to INTEGRIS Health Baptist Medical Center, INTEGRIS Health Children's Hospital, Oklahoma Heart Hospital and more. It's worth noting that noise from ambulance traffic could affect those living in the northeast corner of the neighborhood.
