Eagle Hill offers homebuyers the “peaceful easy feeling” that only a well-positioned, convenient neighborhood can. The Eagles may not have been singing about falling in love with a neighborhood in their famous 1972 hit, but Realtor Becky Ivins with Movers Real Estate confirms that the lyrics ring true for this northwest Oklahoma City community. “You’re close to tons of shopping and restaurants along the expressway, just a few minutes from Lake Hefner and in a good school district to boot. It’s a pretty well-rounded, classic suburban neighborhood,” she says. Peaceful and easy, indeed.

You’ll find Traditional and ranch-style homes here, built between the ‘70s and ‘80s, and ranging in price between $225,000 and $325,000. In keeping with its quintessential suburban tenor, they are closely spaced and many feature attached two-car garages and tall wooden privacy fences. Ivins explains that as the homes here were developed, the emphasis homeowners used to place on the exterior was shifting inside. “You can see that in several of the neighborhoods around here,” she says, explaining: “As you get closer to and into the 1980s, you see more on an inside-emphasis, where people put a lot of thought into the layouts of the bathrooms and things like ceiling heights.” She notes that it’s why Eagle Hill homes tend to look unassuming and uniform from the outside but have so many distinctive features inside. “They all have a similar look and feel to them from the street, which gives the neighborhood cohesion, but when you go inside everything is different, from the custom built-in shelving to the brickwork around the fireplaces and the floorplans,” she says.

For a four-bedroom, three-bathroom brick ranch-style home built in 1980, featuring an attached two-car garage, marble tile flooring and stainless-steel appliances in the kitchen and custom floor-to-ceiling cabinetry in both the living and dining rooms, you can expect to pay close to $294,000. “The upper $200,000 range is on par with the median for the city,” says Ivins, adding: “The market here is pretty hot right now, with homes receiving multiple offers and going under contract in days.” In August 2023, homes in Eagle Hill spent an average of only 17 days on the market before going under contract, well below the national average of 39 days.

Part of what makes this neighborhood so appealing is its location in the heart of northwest OKC. Less than a mile and a half north of the Northwest Expressway, Ivins notes: “It’s easy to get anywhere in the city in 30 minutes or less.” But for your groceries and other everyday essentials, you don’t need to spend even that long in the car. Your local Walmart Supercenter and Sam’s Club are just 1.4 miles southwest in the shopping center at Silver Springs Pointe. Aldi and Target are even closer, just over a mile southwest in the Rockwell Plaza shopping center. With Lake Hefner less than 2 miles east, Eagle Hill offers easy access to a plethora of outdoor entertainment, too. While swimming is not permitted in the lake, visitors can do almost everything else, from sailing and paddleboarding to fishing. Even landlubbers flock to the lakefront for its surrounding parks, playgrounds, sports fields and miles of paved trails.

Neighborhood students attend schools in the highly sought-after Putnam City Schools system. Many go to Harvest Hills Elementary between preschool and fifth grade, Hefner Middle for sixth through eighth grades and Putnam City North for ninth through 12th to finish off their grade school careers. All three schools boast B-plus grades from Niche and GreatSchools Summary Ratings of 7/10 or higher. Ivins observes: “Putnam City Schools are a big draw for families to this part of the city. They’re very popular.”

With such easy access to northwest OKC’s many amenities, access to great schools and its classic, suburban atmosphere, the peaceful easy feeling you’ll get here certainly won’t let you down.
