Downtown OKC and Bricktown are a short drive from Epworth.
Historic northwestern OKC community
Epworth is much more than its historic district and university. Named after Epworth University — predecessor to today’s Oklahoma City University — this small community is one on the rise. " It was a neighborhood in decline, but in the last 10 years, it's blossomed," says Carla Splaingard, an associate and historic specialist at Re/Max Preferred Realty. “It's becoming a target area for remodel,” Splaingard says, noting the area’s convenient location as a middle ground between the bustle of OKC and the city’s northwestern outskirts.
Renovated, historic homes
Epworth has a mix of three-bedroom houses primarily built between 1907 and the late 1920s. Craftsman bungalows with porches are the predominant house style in Epworth, but you'll also find a sprinkling of Tudor Revivals with prices ranging between $120,000 and $350,000. "Very few homes are built after 1950, but most of them have been renovated," says Sandy Giasson, a longtime Oklahoma resident and real estate agent with Chinowth & Cohen Realtors. "There are some students in the mix, but they're not the majority of people who live there." Epworth homes range in size between 1,000 to 2,000 square feet and sit on long, skinny lots.

Proximity to the Asian District and nearby eateries
With its proximity to some of the best areas of the city, Epworth residents don't have to travel very far to find a broad range of dining options. Northwest 23rd Street hosts an array of quick dining options, whether it's Dutch Bros for a quick pick-me-up or Raising Cane's and Tropical Smoothie, among others.
