City connectivity and quiet character in northwest OKC
In booming northwest Oklahoma City, Glenhurst gives residents a quiet neighborhood feel without losing its connection to the city. “It’s a beautiful, very traditionally suburban neighborhood,” says Realtor Terra Richardson of Bold Real Estate. “You can get anywhere really quickly, but you don’t feel that middle-of-the-concrete-jungle claustrophobia you can get in the urban core.” Along with its well-regarded schools, the neighborhood attracts homebuyers looking for a combination of suburban charm and access to entertainment and recreation.
Glenhurst's modern suburban homes
Glenhurst offers a modern suburban aesthetic, with tightly packed homes and their small, well-manicured lawns laid out along parallel streets. The new traditional houses were built from 2000 onward, featuring shared characteristics such as brick or stone facings, hipped roofs and front-facing gables. “A lot of people that move here are coming from large estates in or around Quail Creek, and they’re looking to downsize for their next home,” Richardson says. “These are not starter homes, really. They’re definitely more mid-range.” Homes generally sell between the low $300,000s and the high $400,000s. The neighborhood is included in the Glenhurst HOA, with dues totaling $22 per month.
Attached garages and wide driveways are ideal for Glenhurst families with multiple vehicles.

Walkable to recreation hotspot Lake Hefner
Lake Hefner, one of OKC’s major outdoor attractions, sits less than 2 miles from the neighborhood. While residents from all over the city head to the lake for recreation, Glenhurst locals can walk to the water. “There’s parks, there’s sidewalks, people run, people walk their dogs, and there’s a really nice playground,” says Kathy Parker, a Realtor with eXp Realty and longtime northwest OKC resident. Just east of the neighborhood, Bluff Creek Park has nearly 5 miles of wooded trails as well as a playground. The Martin Park Nature Center, a 2 mile drive, offers paths and a visitor center with live animals and a library.
Bird watching in Martin Nature Park is a favorite activity for Glenhurst birdwatchers.

Access to downtown OKC via Lake Hefner Parkway
Glenhurst is about a mile from both the Kilpatrick Turnpike toll road and Lake Hefner Parkway. Lake Hefner Parkway runs most of the 16 miles toward downtown, while Kilpatrick Turnpike acts as a beltway around the northwestern portions of Oklahoma City. A bus line from the area’s EMBARK transit system stops a couple of miles from the neighborhood, but most residents drive. Meanwhile, Will Rogers World Airport is roughly 17 miles south, offering direct flights to over 20 destinations nationwide.
Dining options off Kilpatrick Turnpike
A shopping center with a Sprouts grocery store and an urgent care facility is in the northwest corner of the neighborhood, walkable for most of the area. But aside from a few fast-food joints along MacArthur Boulevard, residents have to go a little further for restaurants. Local sitdown chains line Kilpatrick Turnpike north of the neighborhood, including Charleston’s, which offers sandwiches, steaks and other American specialties. East down the turnpike is Chisholm Creek, a shopping and restaurant destination. The outdoor mall is built around a lake and has a Cabela’s, as well as restaurants like Razzoo’s Cajun Kitchen and entertainment offerings like Topgolf.
