Cozy Oklahoma City suburb with amenities galore
Nestled on the south side of Oklahoma City Greenbriar Kingspark was established in the early 70s as a planned community drawing on friendly community amenities, open green space and neighborliness. Made up of approximately 350 homes, the neighborhood is just over one square mile, with residents enjoying walkability with an elementary school and an abundance of open green space. "Greenbriar Kingspark's community clubhouse and pool are unique for that part of town. Only a couple of other neighborhoods in south OKC have those types of amenities," says Kristina Moosavi, broker-owner of RE/MAX Lifestyle.
Brick covered ranch-style and traditional builds
In Greenbriar Kingspark, homes were mostly built in the 70s and 80s, ranging from brick ranch-style construction to traditional builds, with most homes having attached garages and driveways. Prices typically fall between $200,000 and $300,000 and will net anywhere between 1,600 and 3,000 square feet. The neighborhood is under an HOA with an active neighborhood association that plans community events and activities. Residents pay $324 annually to help maintain the neighborhood. “If you’re looking in Oklahoma, that is pretty much what our 70s and 80s houses look like,” says Paula Kimbrell, a Realtor with MK Partners. “It’s quiet, it’s well kept up and it’s not in any kind of rejuvenation or anything like that. It’s been kept up (all along).” Across the area , Kimbrell adds that neighborhoods like Greenbriar Kingspark are built in one-mile grids with quiet residential neighborhoods and community amenities and shopping around it, taking advantage of the city’s pure size and flat land between I-44 and I-35.
Moore Public Schools
Kingsgate Elementary School sits right in the neighborhood with youngsters able to walk or bike to class and is rated B on Niche. Open-spaced trails and aquatic fun
When not cooling off at the neighborhood pool or playing some tennis at the on-site tennis court, Merrel Medley Park sits about a mile south of Greenbriar Kingspark. Named for the former engineer and OKC community development director, the park is filled with a bit of green space with a walking path, plus baseball and soccer fields. For even more outdoor fun, travel just a little farther to Earlywine Park where on 99 acres visitors can enjoy a round of golf, or visit the waterpark-like pool or take a stroll and enjoy the open fields.
Fresh cups of coffee and artisanal treats
The Simple Brew sits within walking distance of the neighborhood. The family-owned coffee shop specializes in handcrafted coffee and espresso drinks in a warm and welcoming environment. There's nothing like a hearty breakfast to get your weekend started right, and folks in Greenbriar Kingspark are in luck, because there's a Granny's Kitchen, the self-proclaimed "classic mom-and-pop breakfast restaurant," just under a mile from the neighborhood on Pennsylvania Avenue. Granny's Kitchen has a wide assortment of breakfast and lunch favorites, including chicken waffle benedict for the grown-ups and green eggs and ham for the kids. (Just don't spill the beans that spinach is the secret green ingredient). For everyday shopping, Chateney Square shopping center is home to the World Fresh International Market. Right inside visit the Le Monde Bakery for artisanal pastries made fresh daily. While in Chateney Square, stop by the popular Bricktown Brewery's South OKC location to enjoy some Bricktown wings or a Frito chili burger with a cold, local craft beer to wash it all down.
