Highland-Santa Fe

1980s suburban homes
These calm residential streets are lined with Traditional and Dallas-style homes. “The whole area is a little older, but the homes are very well maintained,” says Christy Hawkins, a Realtor with Keller Williams Green Meadow, who has worked with several clients in Eastlake Estates. Many of the brick or stone-clad homes were built in the mid-1980s, but some are as new as the early 2000s. Hawkins adds that prices suit all kinds of buyers, from “first-timers to downsizers.” Two-bedroom, two-bathroom homes can sell for around $200,000 while four-bedroom, three-bathroom homes can go for as high as $275,000. The median sale price, $230,000, is on par with the median for Oklahoma City and slightly under the median for Moore.Highly rated Moore schools
Despite the neighborhood’s OKC zip code, Highland-Santa Fe students attend grade schools in the Moore Public Schools district. “The Moore district is great,” says Hawkins, adding that many young families move to this part of the city specifically for the schools. Youngsters between preschool and sixth grade go to either Red Oak or Eastlake Elementary, depending on their address. In 2024, Red Oak earned an A-minus grade from Niche and Eastlake earned an A. Older students go to Brink Junior High, which earned an A, and Westmoore High, which earned an A-minus.Parks and playgrounds nearby
“There are always people out walking around here. It’s a very active community,” says Rose. Greenbriar Park sprawls over 2 acres at the heart of the neighborhood, offering ample opportunity to enjoy the great outdoors. Youngsters can burn off their energy at the park’s dinosaur-themed playground; the tennis and basketball courts draw sporty residents of all ages. A paved path circles the entire green space, lined with low, scrubby pine trees and benches. There’s also a covered picnic area. A little more than 2 miles southeast of home, Little River Park has covered picnic pavilions and walking trails, too. The larger park also has a pirate-themed playground and two fishable ponds.Convenient eateries and big box retail
Locals can pick up groceries and other everyday essentials at the Walmart Neighborhood Market just a mile away, on the corner of South Santa Fe Avenue and Southwest Fourth Street. Across the street, Ray’s BBQ serves up classic Southern-style barbecue. The family-owned and operated eatery is as popular for its casual, friendly atmosphere as it is for its beef brisket and tender ribs. On the neighborhood’s opposite corner, Crab & Catfish Co. offers seafood boils and fried fish. There are also several familiar favorite fast-food chains scattered along the main thoroughfares close to home. For everything from WinCo Foods, Target and Costco to Lowe’s and Home Depot, head to the stretch of Southwest 19th Street between South Santa Fe Avenue and Interstate 35. This bustling business corridor is only about 3 miles to the southeast.
Suburban commuting
Interstate 35 is about 2 miles east of home, connecting straight to downtown Oklahoma City, which is just 12 miles north. The commute takes between 20 and 25 minutes, depending on traffic. Will Rogers World Airport is a little more than 11 miles northwest, a drive that takes about 20 minutes in light traffic.
