An idyllic suburb that's welcoming new growth
Kingsridge is a much-sought-after southern Oklahoma City suburb offering homebuyers affordable housing prices despite the presence of recently constructed homes. The community sits close to the borders of Cleveland County and Moore and provides quick commutes to nearby daily amenities. This, paired with periodic events held in the neighborhood park and highly ranked schools, provides residents with a well-rounded community and convenient day-to-day lifestyle.
The homes of Kingsridge
A drive through Kingsridge showcases a true suburban setting, with matching mailboxes, neat sidewalks and well-maintained lawns. Running parallel to its wide residential streets are traditional and ranch-style homes, most of which were constructed throughout the late 20th century and feature red rick exteriors. Christy Hawkings, a realtor with Keller Williams Green Meadow who has been a resident of southern Oklahoma City for 45 years, says, “It’s a good place to get a great bang for your buck, as homes aren’t overinflated like they are in other parts of the country.” The medium home price for the community hits around $250,000, which is affordable when considering that Kingsridge welcomed new construction in the early 2020s. Those looking to purchase a home can expect a price range from $200,000 for a three-bedroom home to $480,000 for a larger, upgraded four-bedroom house.
Highly ranked Brick Junior High School
Though the neighborhood falls within an Oklahoma City ZIP code, Kingsridge is districted for the highly coveted Moore Public School system. Young students don’t have to go far to attend Kingsgate Elementary School, which sits just north of the community and has earned a B from Niche. Older students will head to Brick Junior High School, the number-two best public middle school in Cleveland County according to Niche, which has also given the school an A grade. Students will then head to Westmoore High School, which has earned an A-minus from Niche and offers courses hosted at Moore Norman Technology Center for grades 11 and 12.
Commuting from Kingsridge
Those commuting into downtown Oklahoma City can expect an 11.7-mile drive via I-35 North, while travelers heading to Will Rogers World Airport can reach the terminal in a shorter 8-mile trip along I-44 East. Trips to the hospital at INTEGRIS Health Southwest Medical Center are a 4.8-mile commute via South Western Avenue. Those attending classes at Oklahoma City Community College can get to campus, which sits off South May Avenue, in a convenient 2.9-mile drive.
Morning cups at The Simple Brew
There are plenty of dining options within a mile of the Kingsridge, including The Simple Brew. The local coffee shop sits along Southwest 104th Street, where residents can pick up a latte to go before exploring Chatenay Square. The shopping plaza is home to Spazio Ristorante, an Italian eatery and locally owned gem. For groceries and everyday needs, residents head to the nearby Walmart in the southeast corner of the neighborhood.
Strolls through Merrel Medley Park
Merrel Medley Park, situated on Kingsridge’s western edge, is a popular space for locals of all ages to take in the outdoors. Residents enjoy walks around the park’s half-mile trail loop and take advantage of the playground and recreational fields on sunny days. Locals also enjoy dipping into the pools of nearby Earlywine Park during the summer months. Parking at the pool is limited, so getting there early is recommended in order to snag a spot.
OKC Pop Up Series
The OKC Pop Up Series hosts several festivals at the neighborhood park, including a Fall Fest and Winter Wonderland. While at these events, attendees can explore the work and tastes of local artists and food vendors while enjoying live music.
Nearby runway
Though the commute to the terminals at Will Rogers World Airport is an 8-mile drive, the runway sits much closer to Kingsridge's west side. As this is an international airport, flights depart and land on a regular basis. Though many view it as background noise, those sensitive to overhead sound may want to consider this before moving into the community.
GreatSchools:
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.
