Affordable vintage homes near the heart of Oklahoma City
The perks of Pennville's location are three-fold: proximity to quality schools, a trendy shopping area and the city center. This quiet residential neighborhood is located in the northwest quadrant of Oklahoma City. "By being in the northwest quadrant you're close to everything," says Jim Miller, a Realtor with Keller Williams Elite. "You can get to any part of the metro area within 20 minutes. A lot of the really cool urban development has happened close to that area." Having been revitalized in recent years, the neighborhood contains updated yet affordable vintage homes. "With the renovations and proximity to the development in OKC's urban core, it's a real up-and-coming area," says Rebecca Avey, a Sales Associate with Sage Sotheby's International Realty.
Twenties-era bungalows and Tudor homes.
Pennville is made up of neat square blocks with single-family homes. The neighborhood has many '20s-era bungalows and brick Tudor-style homes with arched entryways and pitched roofs. Many of these homes have two and three bedrooms with interiors ranging from around 1,100 to 2,500 square feet. Homes are on the market for between $150,000 and $400,000, depending on size and condition. "In that area, there are a lot of smaller, historic homes, so it could be a more financially accessible area in the urban core for a first-time buyer," Avey says. Many homes have narrow driveways and generous front yards large enough for a garden.
In Pennville, the historic character of each home adds to the charm of the neighborhood.
Tudor inspired homes are quite common in Pennville.
