Midcentury homes surrounded by parks
Located just 10 miles outside Oklahoma City proper and bordered by two well-kept parks, the Springdale neighborhood is a natural choice for outdoor enthusiasts and daily commuters alike. Springdale's northwest location and proximity to major thoroughfares Hefner Parkway and the Northwest Expressway make for an easy drive to all parts of Oklahoma City, including downtown. When the weekend rolls around, Springdale residents can relax and soak up some sunshine at nearby Dolese Youth Park and North Rotary Park.
Springdale’s low-pitched roofs and shady yards
The homes in Springdale are predominately midcentury brick ranch-style homes with low-pitched roofs and split-levels with street-facing one- or two-car garages. Concrete driveways lead to carports or two-car garages. Homes back to towering mature trees or parts of North Rotary Park. Homebuyers can expect to pay anywhere from $180,000 up to $270,000, depending on the size and condition of the house. "Since the houses in Springdale are on the smaller end—less than 2,000 square feet, generally speaking—the price point is a little more attainable than other nearby neighborhoods," says Anya Mashaney, Realtor, broker and co-owner of Spaces Real Estate. Mashaney lives in northwest OKC.

Those who prefer an evening in can pick up ingredients for a flavorful homemade meal at the local Supermercados Morelos. This OKC-based food market carries popular, sometimes hard-to-find Hispanic grocery products. Those looking for a quick fix can also grab a burrito or chile relleno made on site at Morelos' Taqueria, a small eatery inside the store, or hit up Bunny's Onion Burgers, a local legend right down the street.
Springdale’s dual parks
Dolese Youth Park, which borders Springdale to the west, offers 156 acres of recreational fun for all ages. Locals cast their poles for largemouth bass or rainbow trout in the large pond, stroll along the 2-mile walking trail or let the kids burn off energy at the playground. An 18-hole disc golf course, six soccer fields and seven baseball fields complete the set. The 44 acres of green space known as North Rotary Park are also within walking distance of Springdale.
