Kids play chess weekly at the nearby Moore Community Center, which includes plenty of space for pickup sports and other activities. Stone Meadows South residents create spooky scenes outside their homes for the Halloween decoration contest and keep their yards pristine year-round to earn Yard of the Month – and they’re never far from the action in downtown OKC.
Passing cars on I-35 whizz by The Shops at Moore, where Stone Meadows South residents pick up groceries or sit down for dinner. They access the shopping center via the South I-35 Service Road, which runs along the highway, or from Southwest 19th Street. Foodies enjoy classic Italian bites at Oliveto Italian Bistro, or soak in the vibes of a summer night and watch the game at The Garage Burgers & Beer. Locals step back in time to see a film at the retro-style Regal Warren Moore or stock up on Sooners or Oklahoma City Thunder gear at the Rally House Moore location. For big-box shopping, they choose from a Walmart Supercenter and a Costco Wholesale on one side of I-35 or a Sam’s Club on the other.
Like much of OKC’s outskirts, Stone Meadows and Stone Meadows South are car-dependent communities. Locals access I-35 in 3.5 miles; this main thoroughfare takes them to downtown OKC in 14 miles. To reach visitors at Will Rogers World Airport, they head the opposite direction for a 13.3 mile trip down I-44. Residents don’t need to hop on the highway to reach Norman Regional Moore hospital, which sits just under 3 miles away.
