Stonegate is situated just a few minutes from Lake Hefner.
Suburban living just minutes from the lakefront
Just a few streets over from Lake Hefner, the well-established northwest Oklahoma City neighborhood known as Stonegate has been making homebuyers sit up and take notice. "Stonegate is becoming really popular," says Julie Donley, a Realtor with Metro Mark Real Estate who has worked with buyers and sellers in the area. "A lot of young people are coming in and redoing the houses." According to Donley, it's Stonegate's location that makes it hard to beat and has helped spur recent growth in the area. Living here, in the curve between the Kilpatrick Turnpike and Lake Hefner Parkway, residents have no trouble getting around town. All the attractions in downtown OKC are a roughly 20-minute drive away, with hospitals, shopping malls and highways even closer. But on a day-to-day basis, folks in Stonegate can stick close to home knowing they've got waterfront recreation and dining just a stone's throw away.
Traditional and ranch-style homes popular with families
The wide, flat streets of Stonegate are lined by neat lawns dotted by the occasional shady oak. Ranch-style houses and two-story Traditional homes sit side-by-side, separated by fenced-in backyards and driveways with a two-car garage. Single-family home prices typically start in the low $200,000s for four bedrooms and can climb to $300,000 for additional square footage. "The price point is attractive to homebuyers, especially first-time buyers," Donley says. A handful of condos are also available in the gated Benttree community in the northwestern quadrant of the neighborhood and typically list between $150,000 to $200,000 for two to three bedrooms.
Traditional one-story houses are quite common in Stonegate.

Locals enjoy biking in Bluff Creek Park.
Everyday recreation at neighborhood parks or on the water at Lake Hefner
Duffner Park, located just south of the neighborhood, is a family favorite during the summertime for its splash pad. New renovations to the park are slated for completion by summer 2024, bringing with it new and improved amenities like play areas designed for all ages surrounding a central pavilion where parents can keep an eye on their little ones. Of course, this area’s real outdoor attraction lies on the shores of Lake Hefner. From traversing Bluff Creek Park’s rugged biking trails to paddling through the waters in a rented kayak, there are plenty of ways to enjoy the scenic waterfront just a couple of miles from home.
Waterfront dining and bustling shopping centers are close by
Lakefront dining is all the rage around Lake Hefner. Residents can dine in the fresh air at Mama Roja Mexican Kitchen, a waterside restaurant famous for its lake views and hand-rolled chimichangas. Though the eatery is only a couple miles from Stonegate, there are even more options closer to home, including the locally owned Hopscotch Kitchen & Bar. This casual bar and grill is a popular hangout thanks to its weekly trivia nights, pool tables and a Wednesday night chess club. Residents who prefer a home-cooked meal, grab some dinner provisions at Uptown Grocery Co., located about a mile from Stonegate on North May Avenue. The neighborhood is also less than two miles from Quail Springs Mall, home to over 100 retailers ranging from department stores to high-end clothing. The mall’s entertainment options are perfect for rainy days, whether that means catching a blockbuster at the AMC movie theater or making some new aquatic friends at the Blue Zoo Aquarium.
