Multiple planned developments exist in Ashton-Sandy Spring, with some dating back to the 1960s and others built in the early 2000s. These developments are equipped with well-maintained sidewalks and tree-lined streets, perfect for evening strolls and bike rides. These houses do not have sidewalks and are far from neighbors with a more rural feel.

Students attend highly rated Montgomery County schools
The Montgomery County Public School District is a draw for the area. Students may attend Sherwood Elementary School, rated A by Niche, William H. Farquhar Middle School, A-minus, and the A-rated Sherwood High School. “Schools are a huge factor for many people considering moving here,” says Zowd, “because the district is highly ranked and regarded as one of the best in the state.” Sherwood High School has just over 1,750 students and a student-teacher ratio of 15 to 1.
