Neatly planned streets on Oregon City's south end
Resting on the boundary between suburbia and farmlands, Tower Vista is one of the newest communities in Oregon City's southern corner. Neatly planned streets feature single-family homes averaging 2,000 square feet with abounding parks within walking distance. Well-maintained sidewalks with gravel accents and decorative trees characterize this neighborhood’s layout. Homes typically have their own paved driveways and some feature fences for privacy. As the final suburban neighborhood on Oregon City’s south end before things get rural, residents benefit simultaneously from the country's quiet and the city's convenience.

Foursquares and bungalows on larger lots
Homes sit on medium-sized lots with enough room for small yard accents and a couple of cars in the driveway or garage. Bright red maple trees and gray cluster box units dot Tower Vista's sidewalks and offer a splash of color to its muted palette. There is just enough room for visiting friends and family to street park. “It’s a good area, especially for resale, because the lot sizes are larger,” says Principal Broker Connie Dalton of Better Homes and Gardens Realty Partners, with more than 20 years’ experience. “The homes are typically older, from the 1980s and 1990s, and even some ranch-styles from the 2000s.” Foursquares and bungalows are the most prevalent home styles, usually two stories tall with three or four bedrooms. Pricing typically ranges from $520,000 to $720,000.

Multiple parks to explore
“The parks are excellent. There’re a couple really good ones for the kids,” says Dalton. Tower Vista borders the 18.5-acre Chapin Park. Friends and families can rent the picnic shelter with six tables and a grill for that next group gathering. Pavilions offer shade on the sunniest of days. Kids can play tag in the park’s open field or navigate the jungle gym. Three baseball diamonds sit attached to the park for Little League players to have a game. Wesley Lynn Park has a more expansive jungle gym for kids to explore. It also features two baseball diamonds, should Chapin Park’s fields be reserved already.

Locals and visitors have plenty of events to explore in Oregon City. February brings the Lunar New Year Celebration at the Pioneer Community Center, a time for cultural appreciation and crafts for kids. In addition to food and games, the event hosts a live performance by Lee’s Dragon Dancers. Another excellent winter event is the Glow Swim, held monthly at the Oregon City Swimming Pool. Disco lights illuminate from overhead, while more colorful lights shine through the water from underneath. Kids are welcome to swim but must be accompanied by an adult.
Using the TriMet
