The John Humphrey Complex is one of Downtown Orland Park’s largest parks, with 11 fields for baseball and softball. The park is one of the primary destinations for kids taking part in Orland Youth Association programs, but residents can also find a lengthy walking trail nearby that connects to the Franklin Loebe Recreation Center. The center has an indoor playground and hosts eclectic programming such as dance classes, bagpipe lessons and youth robotics lessons. The rec center also has a gymnasium available to the public for rentals. Frontier Park offers a traditional neighborhood park experience nearby with a playground and picnic tables.

The area’s major thoroughfares are 96th Avenue/LaGrange Road and the West 143rd Street/IL-7 highway. The nearest hospital, UChicago Medicine Orland Park, sits on the north end of the neighborhood near the intersection of both major roads. Residents can reach Chicago Midway International Airport with a 15-mile drive northeast or Chicago O’Hare International Airport with a 30-mile trip north. The area has select bike lanes near Ravinia Avenue and the Orland Park 143rd train station. Pace Bus stops are available along LaGrange Road and at the Orland Square Mall.
Residents can use the Metra to get downtown Chicago in about an hour.

Annual festivals and events at Centennial Park West
Residents don’t always have to travel to Chicago proper to enjoy time away from home. During the summer, the city hosts the annual Taste of Orland Park festival, where residents can sample food from Orland Park restaurants and listen to live music from a variety of acts.
