Modern options in Ormond Beach
Janet Fuller, Realtor with RE/MAX Signature, who’s been selling homes in the area for more than 20 years, says, “You have homes here from the 1980s all the way to brand-new builds, and they’re all very well-kept and modern. I also think of them as affordable, because the HOA is very reasonable. Plus, you have the safety and security of being away from the water, so your insurance can be more affordable than it would be for homes on the beach.” Homes built in the 1990s can include a five-bedroom stucco single-level with a lanai for $650,000 or a Spanish-style four-bedroom estate with a water view for $890,000. In between, four-bedroom contemporary brick homes built in the 2000s are priced around $500,000. In the master-planned 55-plus Huntington, new homes average $400,000. Mature landscaping and tree-lined streets are all part of the upscale vibe, and streetscapes often curve into cul-de-sacs. “What’s great about Hunters Ridge," adds Fuller, "is that it features smaller and larger homes, so pretty much anyone can find a home somewhere in the $300,000 to $800,000 price point. It’s an active, walkable community with amenities for all ages and stages, whether you’re a younger person, a career person, or a retiree. Since they’ve added the 55-plus Huntington, you also have opportunities for downsizing.”

Easy drive to Ormond Town Square
In exchange for the peaceful character of this primarily residential retreat, locals don’t mind the several-mile drive to dine out in a small plaza on Granada Boulevard that includes a Don Giovanni and Fancy Sushi. And just a bit further east, shops and restaurants fill Ormond Town Square. Says Fuller, “You can grocery shop at Publix in Ormond Town Square, do your banking, and stop by CVS. There’s also an Advent Health Hospital about a mile down 95. So, when you’re living in Hunter’s Ridge, all your essentials are very convenient. It’s a really central location with top-quality, well-built homes.”
