Rose Lodge is a small inland community located just east of the Oregon coastline. Residents can enjoy living near the Salmon River and several trailheads. "People like it because it’s a pretty tight knit community, and they look out for each other often. It's also a bit more rural so you don’t have all the city noise or tourists and it’s gorgeous. The river is right there, and it's great for fishing, kayaking, hiking," says Robyn Tanner, broker and owner of Beachside Realty, who previously sold in Rose Lodge. Zeller’s Riverside Bar & Grill serves casual grub in a no-frills dining space with outdoor tables, line dancing and live music twice a week. Students may attend Oceanlake Elementary School, which teaches kindergarten through second graders and has a C-plus from Niche. Taft Elementary School is for third through sixth grade and has a C. Taft Middle/ High School includes grades seven through twelve and holds a C. It also offers robust baseball and disc golf programs.

Highway 18 stretches as far west as Lincoln City and runs as the main roadway through Rose Lodge. The road is also fed by Bear Creek, where the historic Drift Creek Covered Bridge is located.
