Contemporary homes and local pride
With an average construction date of 1987, homes in the area have a more contemporary look than those in older parts of the city. The curved sidewalks pass brick Craftsman and ranch-style homes, and most driveways lead to single-car garages. Prices for ranch-style homes begin in the mid-$100,000s before peaking in the low $200,000s. Craftsman homes tend to be newer and command prices that start in the low $200,000s and max out in the mid-$300,000s. “There’s a real pride in which side of the city you’re from—you’re either an east sider or a west sider,” says Matt Brown, Realtor with Keller Williams Elite. “And this is easily one of the most affordable neighborhoods on the west side.”
