Modern living in the farmlands

Surrounded by farms and woodlands beneath a wide open sky, Masonville has more than its fair share of country charm. A sense of safety and privacy brings residents to this little town, along with a sense of community. “I grew up here, and I don’t think there’s any better place to be,” says Donna Mitchell, owner of local business Black Sheep Antiques. “Everyone knows everyone else—it’s a nice, friendly farm community.” Modern homes and high-ranked schools are another draw, particularly for families. With newer construction and long stretches of greenery, Masonville offers a rustic atmosphere easily enjoyed from the comfort of a picture window.

Modern, 21st century construction

With its modern housing developments and water tower on the horizon, Masonville gives the impression of a master-planned community dropped on a quiet pasture. Though the area covers just over 10 square miles of land, most homes are at its northern border, where several subdivisions have been constructed in the past decade. Contemporary Craftsman-style homes make up most of these neighborhoods, with midcentury homes from the '40s and '50s scattered around the rest of the region. An older ranch-style home falls between the low and high $100,000s, depending on size and condition. More modern dwellings start in the low $200,000s for smaller homes with quarter-acre tracts before peaking in the low $400,000s for larger, two-story homes on corner lots.
