"The homes are in good shape, and most have been renovated," Stricklin says. "There is a lot of pride among homeowners here." The neighborhood's suburban streets have an eclectic mix of single-family houses. The yards are large enough for homeowners to host parties in their backyards, often shaded by old-growth trees. Brick and wood-exterior ranch-style houses from the 1940s and 50s sell for between $135,000 and $415,000. Brick Colonial Revival-style houses from the 1920s and 30s sell for between $220,000 and $400,000. Brick New Traditional-style houses from the 1920s sell for as low as $220,000, and houses of the same style from the 1990s sell for as high as $660,000.
