Suburb with a rural vibe
From above, Woodlawn resembles verdant parkland, giving off a rural vibe. At street level, narrow winding roads are lined with mature trees and foliage, revealing midcentury homes and spacious front yards. "It's a quiet community and a good place to raise a family," says Nancy Upchurch, executive assistant at the Paducah planning office. In addition to its tranquil setting, people move to the community to be close to work. "It's a convenient drive to several chemical plants where many residents are employed," says Lenny Powley, a Realtor with LP Real Estate Services and lifelong Paducah resident.
