A buzzy atmosphere in North Palm Beach
Golf, waterfront homes and historic landmarks make up North Palm Beach. The area was once farmland, but philanthropist John D. MacArthur developed it, and the neighborhood won best planned community of 1956 from the National Association of Home Builders. Today, it’s a buzzy hotspot known internationally, but it retains a cool, suburban quality. Boat slips abound, and one might bump into a celebrity from the sports or entertainment world while out and about. North Palm Beach Country Club was designed by golf legend Jack Nicklaus and was named one of the top 30 municipal golf courses in the country by Golf Magazine. Real estate broker Raymond Petric with eXp Realty points out that the neighborhood is not all high-rises and boutique living arrangements, though. “What’s actually unique to North Palm Beach are a number of lower end condos.”

A range of condos, plus ranches in abundance
Styles range from ranch homes to Mediterranean Revival villas to condos. It’s true that luxury experiences are available, like the condos at Palm Beach House, Regency Surf & Racquet Club and Placido Mar, which sit on the water. But as local realtors point out, there are several pricing options. Plenty of condos can be found starting at $200,000. Luxury units will go double that, to start with. Single-owner homes pop into view around the $600,000 mark. A renovated midcentury cottage in a beachy pastel hue will sell at that price, for example. Yards, fences and driveways are common sights on properties like these, as this is after all a suburban community. Thick grass and palm trees provide visual interest. Single-owner homes will generally reach into the upper $800,000s and then more sprawling million-dollar estates come into view.
The Cove Club West Palm luxury residential towers are the newest addition in the neighborhood.

Birdwatching and mango trees at Osprey Park
Fishing is a popular pastime at Brian H. Chappell Park’s pier. And boating is another standout activity in North Palm Beach, with some yacht owners opting to join Safe Harbor Rybovich. This uniquely designed resort-style facility provides unobstructed deep-water access and secure berths for yachts. There’s also the members-only Palm Beach Sailing Club, which offers lessons, regattas and cruise outings. Many residents prefer to merely watch the boats sail by from the scenic benches at Gettler Park. Others may go for a run at Osprey Park under the shade of mango trees while keeping an eye out for the park’s namesake native birds.
