Outdoor recreation at PGA National facilities, Dyer Park
PGA National Resort is a private golf retreat a few miles north of Horseshoe Acres. Home of the Professional Golfers’ Association of America between the ‘80s and 2022, the resort has five championship 18-hole golf courses, racquet sports courts, restaurants and a spa. The nearby PGA National Park, originally part of the resort development, has public recreation, including a playground and athletic fields. Dyer Park offers additional outdoor recreation in the Winding Waters Natural Area a few miles south, with playgrounds, sports fields and trails. Fishing is permitted from the boardwalks overlooking the small river. The RC Bush Pilots, a radio-controlled aviation club, meets to fly model planes on the park’s airfield.
