Deer Valley
Deer Valley Resort and Jordanelle State Park
The crux of the community, Deer Valley Resort is one of the most famous skiing destinations in the world and has been named the best ski resort in America more than 10 times by the World Ski Awards. “Deer Valley is a very different resort. I think they staff their mountain with many more employees and more enthusiastic employees, so their service is above other resorts,” Matyja says. “It's one of three skier-only resorts in America, so that makes it unique.” The resort is known for its high-end atmosphere with gourmet dining, groomed slopes and more amenities. It has catered to celebrities like Taylor Swift and the Kardashians.Bordering Deer Valley to the east, Jordanelle State Park is centered around the Jordanelle Reservoir, where visitors can fish and paddleboard and enjoy striking views of the mountains. “It’s a big lake, really popular for water skiing and boating. There are campgrounds for RV and tent camping, so people come from all over and down from Salt Lake City,” Matyja says. One of the park’s most popular hiking routes is Ross Creek Trail, which also offers biking and horseback riding.
Condos, contemporary mansions and new construction in Deer Valley
Deer Valley has been developed around the namesake ski resort on its west side, giving many homes views of the Wasatch Range as well as ski-in, ski-out access. “I'd say Deer Valley can be defined by five major real estate communities. Most are almost fully built out, so there's a scarcity of inventory,” Matyja says. The area’s housing includes condos, which range between $400,000 for one-bedroom options to $20 million for penthouses. The newest condo complex is Sommét Blanc, the last remaining development parcel in Deer Valley. “It's nearly sold out and in early construction,” Matyja says. Contemporary mansions from the 1990s range from $4.8 to $14 million, and they come with amenities like spas and heated driveways. Built in the 2020s, new construction contemporary mansions range from $14 million to $39 million. They often offer luxuries like heated pools, saunas and home theaters.Well-rated schools, including Midway Elementary and Park City High

Most of the community’s dining is concentrated on its west side, near the resort and the bulk of the area’s housing. Glitretind Restaurant, in the Stein Eriksen Lodge Deer Valley, serves New American cuisine paired with fine wines on an outdoor patio with alpine views. The Kitz has specialty lattes, pastries and lunch options. To get to Brasserie 7452, patrons must ride a funicular up to overlooks of the snow-capped peaks, which surround this high-end French restaurant. One of the establishment’s daily traditions is sabering a bottle of champagne. Although there aren’t any shopping centers in Deer Valley, downtown Park City is only a mile away, with dozens of stores ranging from boutiques to gift shops. The closest supermarket is Fresh Market Park City, only a couple miles away from Deer Valley.Events at Deer Valley Snow Park Outdoor Amphitheater

Past performers have included Earth, Wind & Fire; Gladys Knight; and the Utah Symphony.Only a mile from downtown Park City and more transportation
