The Parkland Golf and Country Club stands out as the only golf course community in the city, offering luxury homes and plenty of amenities. The guard-gated community attracts residents with the allure of the country club and upscale homes, and there are many long-term residents. “The lifestyle is mostly what’s kept me here. It’s really well-maintained and there’s a lot of amenities. It’s a very exclusive kind of feel that you don’t get elsewhere,” says Jennifer Curreri, a Realtor with Coldwell Banker Realty who has lived in the community for 12 years.

The Parkland Golf and Country Club sits in the heart of the community, and much of the community wraps around the club’s 18-hole golf course. Members of the club can also take advantage of the club’s tennis and pickleball courts, as well as the fitness center. After a workout or game of pickleball, the club’s pool is where most members go to relax. The country club has several membership tiers, ranging from a resident tenant membership to a golf-only membership, among others. There is also a membership tier that residents pay for as part of their homeowners association fees.

Upscale homes at a premium
Homes throughout the community range from properties along Parkland’s intracoastal waterways to homes with undisturbed golf course views. Mature palm trees and manicured front lawns add appeal to the luxury homes throughout the Parkland community. Though there is a fair share of custom-built estates, many homes in the neighborhood have hints of Mediterranean-style architecture, with stucco finishes and red-tiled roofs. Home prices typically range between $1.2 million and $3 million, and prices vary depending on lot size and location within the community. Townhomes usually range between $650,000 and $770,000. “There’s not a lot of inventory, but homes do tend to stay on the market for longer because they cost more than some of the places around it,” Curreri says. She continues to say that it’s not rare for residents to move within the community when downsizing or moving into a bigger home.

Several shopping centers less than a mile away
Though many residents are within walking distance of the country club’s dining spots, The Club and The Park, Parkland offers an abundance of restaurants and shopping centers close by. The North Springs Plaza shopping center has retail options, and across the street, Magnolia Shoppes is home to several restaurants and a Regal movie theater. Casa Tequila is a popular spot to get a plate filled to the brim with Mexican fare and a tasty margarita. Heading westward, Sawgrass Center has a Publix and several chain restaurants.

The Parkland community is about 15 miles from Boca Raton and Pompano Beach, which both have miles of sandy shores and beachfront. The community is about 16 miles from Boca Raton Airport, which flies recreational and business flights, but the nearest major airport is in Fort Lauderdale, about 30 miles out. For medical care, the community is about 5 miles from Broward Health Coral Springs.

Pine Trails Park, less than a mile from the community, is one of Parkland’s largest municipal green spaces. The playground area can keep kids entertained for hours, with several play structures and fields to run around in. Residents can get their steps in for the day by walking along the park's paved trails. Local organized youth sports teams often come to Pine Trails for soccer or baseball games. About 3 miles away, North Community Park has several fields that are used for soccer or football, as well as a pavilion area with grills for a weekend outing.
