Watercrest at Parkland
Luxury waterfront homes
Watercrest is one of the newer neighborhoods in Parkland. Most homes were built in the late 2010s, many offering scenic, undisturbed views of one of the neighborhood’s several lakes. “The neighborhood is so manicured, one of my clients said it was like she was driving through Disneyland getting to the house,” Alex Sajovits says. Architectural styles range from Mediterranean flourishes with red-tiled roofs to larger estates with arched entryways on oversized lots. Prices vary depending on square footage and model, typically ranging between $1 million and $2.5 million. Though a majority of the homes are for sale, there are some rental houses as well. HOA fees usually hover around $500 per month, lower than neighboring communities like Parkland Bay and Miralago.Broward County Schools are a big draw for parents
The Watercrest community is zoned to highly rated schools in the Broward County Public Schools District, a major draw for parents. Kids in the area might attend Heron Heights Elementary School, which receives an A-minus grade from Niche and offers before- and after-school care. Westglades Middle School also receives an A-minus, while Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School boasts an A-plus. The high school offers an array of extracurricular activities and programs, including dual-enrollment courses for college credits.Fishing at Pine Trails Park
Residents can spend sunny days at the community pool, located in the neighborhood clubhouse, which also has a fitness center and tennis courts. Watercrest Lake is stocked with fish, and residents often cast a line for catch-and-release fishing. Pine Trails Park, one of Parkland’s biggest municipal parks, is a few miles away, and the expansive Everglades aren't far, either. Members of the Parkland Golf and Country Club are a few miles from the greens. Residents looking to catch a tan or relax on the sand are about 17 miles from the shoreline. An easy route to Boca Raton and Pompano Beach
Local thoroughfares like University Drive and Nob Hill Road lead to the central parts of Parkland. To reach Boca Raton or Pompano Beach, residents can use the Sawgrass Expressway toll road, which is also one of the main routes to Interstate 95. Boca Raton is about 13 miles away, while Pompano Beach is about 16 miles out. The closest medical center is in neighboring Coral Springs at Broward Health, a 250-bed hospital. Like other communities in Parkland, Watercrest residents tend to drive to get around since there's no public transportation in the area.A few miles from Central Parkland shops
Though Watercrest is on the northwestern corner of Parkland, residents aren’t too far from many of the city’s shopping centers and restaurants. The neighborhood is about 4 miles away from Walmart and Publix. Parkland has an array of restaurant options, ranging from fast food spots to beloved local chains. Little Havana offers a taste of Cuba, accompanied by tasty drinks and occasional live music. North Springs Plaza, about 5 miles away, has big-box retailers like Target and Ross. Residents typically head to neighboring Boca Raton or Pompano Beach for more retail or restaurant options.
