A suburban Pasadena neighborhood with notable architecture
Casa Grande is a classic Pasadena suburb: its homes date back to the early 20th century, and its vibe is serene, with mature trees shading the neighborhood streets. “The neighborhood is quiet with wide streets and has some really beautiful architecture,” says Pasadena native and Realtor Matt McIntyre. Casa Grande captures the city’s peaceful, suburban charm in miniature, with historic homes, leafy trees and views of the San Gabriel Mountain Range. “It’s very central, the kind of neighborhood where you can ride a bike down the street and may not see a car pass you, yet you’re in the city of Pasadena and only five minutes to a grocery store,” McIntyre says.
Homes around Casa Grande feature landscaping that make each home feel private.
Casa Grande is a safe neighborhood with a lower than national average crime score.

Victory Park and Jefferson Park
Just east of the neighborhood, Victory Park is one of the most popular parks in the city, with facilities from soccer fields to ballfields. “It is a great park for children’s sporting events like baseball games. There’s a lot of space, and it’s next to Pasadena High School,” McIntyre says. This park features walking paths with views of the San Gabriel Mountains and a recreation center with an indoor gym. It also hosts the Pasadena Victory Park Farmer's Market, an array of certified vendors every Saturday morning. Jefferson Park, located west of Casa Grande, offers basketball courts, volleyball courts and shaded picnic tables.
Public transit is used by locals throughout Casa Grande.
Victory Park features many perfect shade trees perfect for enjoying a book with friends.

Tudor Revivals, Mediterranean homes and ranch-style homes in Casa Grande
East of Old Pasadena, Casa Grande is purely residential, composed of avenues lined with jacaranda and crape myrtle trees, which blossom in the spring and summer months. The area’s single-family houses come with lawns with enough room for garden beds, often manicured with trimmed boxwood hedges and rose bushes. “There are streets in that neighborhood that have really beautiful architecture that have stood the test of time, properties built in the 1920s and ‘30s. That doesn’t exist in a lot of other parts of LA,” McIntyre says. Some famous houses include the historic Craig Adobe home, which dates back to 1880, and the Van Halen house, the childhood home of Eddie and Alex Van Halen. More architecture includes Tudor Revivals, Mediterranean homes and ranch-style homes. There are also a couple of townhouse communities on the neighborhood’s east end. Ranch-style homes range from $1 million to $1.6 million, while townhouses range from $800,000 to $900,000. On the higher end, Mediterranean homes and Tudor Revivals are priced between $1.7 million and $2.2 million. Houses in Casa Grande stay on the market for 22 days on average, compared to the national average of 46 days. “The market’s very swift throughout Pasadena, certainly in our nicer neighborhoods, this being one of them. The houses there aren’t massive, so it ends up being a more approachable price point,” McIntyre says.
The average home in Casa Grande sells for 1.4 million dollars.
