Boutiques and downtown cuisine

Pendleton Town Square, the neighborhood’s small downtown area, is home to several local shops and restaurants. Locals enjoy shopping at Newtique Boutique, known for its great selection of Clemson-themed clothing and décor, as well as an extensive collection of customized socks. “Pendleton has a great downtown for meeting up with friends on a Saturday afternoon, with lots of little shops to buy gifts in and quality restaurants to grab lunch,” says Sawyer. After working up an appetite shopping, head to Blue Heron Restaurant & Sushi Bar, an upscale restaurant with exceptional surf and turf dinners. Another option is Raines on Exchange Bar and Grill, which provides an elevated bar experience with a wide selection of appetizers and drinks and classic American bar dinners like burgers, wings and sandwiches. For after-dinner drinks or to enjoy a tasting menu, check out Swamp Fox Distilling, renowned in the area for its rum flights and house-made drinks. Home cooks will appreciate the nearby Food Lion, perfect for weekly grocery runs.
