On the outskirts of Canton is Perry Heights, a suburban neighborhood where homes weave through the shade of mature trees along a quiet residential landscape. Not far from metropolitan amenities, Perry Heights provides plenty of opportunities to enjoy nature through a wildlife conservation center and multiple parks. Shopping and dining options line Route 172, which features a menu of family-owned eateries. Students here can attend schools within the Perry Local School District, which has an overall B grade on Niche. “Perry Heights has a great community,” says Laura Martin, a Perry High School alumna and real estate broker with Find Home Realty. “There’s lots of support in the school systems, and it’s a wonderful place to be.”

Everything from international restaurants to unique mom-and-pops
Restaurants dot Route 172, which bisects the neighborhood, running east to west. Located on Lincoln Way East is El Campesino, a highly rated Mexican eatery with a low-key, casual atmosphere. Opened in 2021, Fizzlestix is a newer family-owned restaurant. “Everybody serves burgers and fries, but we’re a little different,” says owner Jeff Buynak. Fizzlestix delivers an elevated take on classic American food with signature gourmet burgers and milkshakes. “What we try to do is bring together a bunch of flavors and dishes from the U.S. and give them our own little twist. Every city has a different thing that it's known for. We wanted to create our own take on things with specials from different cities in mind.”
Just east of the neighborhood is a small shopping center featuring stores like Giant Eagle Supermarket and Target.
