Much of Bridesburg comprises typical urban street blocks, bordered by industrial zones, the I-95 and the Delaware River, which gives the community a feeling of privacy from the hustle and bustle of Philadelphia. Nine of every ten homes in the community are owner-occupied, with a handful of rental properties and new construction popping up in recent years. Three-story townhomes and brick rowhomes are available in a range of floorplans, all with no H.O.A. and ample street parking. Prices in Bridesburg have been steadily increasing, but the community has come together in recent years against rising prices. "Its pretty tight-knit up there, prices are steady but they've been coming up little by little," says Seth Govan, a local Realtor at HomeSmart Realty Group with over ten years of experience. Two-bedroom twin homes needing some T.L.C. can go for $150,000, while more updated townhomes or new construction costs $515,000 or more.

Locals can bike around and take the commuter rail from Bridesburg Station
Locals can bike or walk around the neighborhood easily enough. The Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority has public bus stops throughout the neighborhood, and the Bridesburg Station offers passage via the SEPTA Trenton Line. Center City is six miles to the south via public transit or the I-95 expressway, which forms the neighborhood's northern boundary.

After school, parents can bring their children to Bridesburg indoor recreation centers. The Bridesburg Recreation Center has athletic facilities for the community. The center also hosts after-school programs for local children and seasonal events such as trick-or-treat and ornament-making for the holidays.
