Bustleton’s new traditional and ranch-style homes offer a bit more privacy with spacious green lawns and tree-lined backyards. Flat sidewalks make it easy for residents to go on an evening stroll around the neighborhood. A three-bedroom rowhome in Bustleton usually lists between $250,000 and $350,000. Meanwhile, some of the newer homes with four bedrooms can cost up to $500,000.

The ACME Markets and Aldi are two go-to grocery stores in Bustleton. Other big-box retailers are easily accessible at the Whitman Square shopping center on Roosevelt Boulevard. While this main corridor is filled with fast food chains, most residents like to dine at local restaurants. Steve Stein’s Famous Deli is a neighborhood favorite, serving one of the best corn beef sandwiches in Philly. Locals have been raving about the crab cakes at Kelly’s Seafood since its opening in 1959.

Center City is only a 30-minute train ride away
Public buses and nearby trains make it easy for Center City commuters to get to and from work. The Philmont Station offers a 30-minute subway ride into the city. Drivers can follow Grant Avenue to Interstate 95 and arrive at the Philadelphia International Airport in about 40 minutes. The Holy Redeemer Hospital is less than a 10-minute drive outside the neighborhood. A small private airport borders the east edge of Bustleton, but Fish confirms, “It’s never been an issue for residents.”

I do not visually see a lot of crime in my neighborhood; however, I have heard from neighbor's that there have been some individuals who reported attempted break-in's. In addition, I have read in the newspaper of some crime in the neighborhood.
