Summer movie nights at Fisher Park
Parents and children can walk to Sturgis Playground and Community Center and climb on the monkey bars or buy a popsicle from the local ice cream truck. This small park hosts an annual summer camp and an after-school program. Enjoy walking along the tree-covered nature trails and playing tennis with friends at Fisher Park. During the summer, this 23-acre park hosts live music performances and ‘Park Friends Movie Nights’ that residents can attend for free. Melrose Park Station connects to Center City
Melrose Park Gardens is very walkable, with crosswalks connecting the sidewalks and a 78 walkability score. Although the neighborhood itself is made for pedestrians, most residents use a car to get around the city. Residents can take a 19-mile drive to the Philadelphia International Airport via Route 13 and Interstate 95. Fewer than 3 miles away, the Jefferson Einstein Hospital on North Broad Street is easily accessible to the community. At the intersection of Valley Road and Mill Road, Melrose Park Station is a regional railway station that is part of the SEPTA or Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority. Residents can walk or drive to the station and take the train to Center City.
