About Pike Road, AL

About Pike Road, AL

A changing rural town on the edge of Montgomery

Pike Road was incorporated in 1997 but in many ways did not find its identity until 2005 when residents settled on the town’s official “Four Pillars” of life: quality of life, community planning, public education and municipal services. Since then the city of 10,000 has blossomed, while keeping aspects of what makes it special. "It has a hometown feel in a rural, natural setting, but it is up and coming,” says Jeff Dickey, a Realtor and associate broker with New Waters Realty. “It’s all new buildings.” Less than 20 miles from Montgomery, many Pike Road residents commute downtown or to Maxwell Air Force Base, while others work remote jobs.
