Mission Hills Park and Bernal Community Park offer recreation
Mission Hills Park is on the neighborhood’s east side, offering a walking trail, a playground and a 50-foot metal slide. Centennial Park is just outside the west side of Mission Park and has walking trails and a horseshoe pit. Bernal Community Park is about 1 mile west and has three baseball diamonds and a playground. It’s next to the Stanford Medicine Sports Complex, which has three sports fields open to the public and is often used for high school sports practices. The Pleasanton Golf Center is about 1.5 miles north. Built inside the Pleasanton Fairgrounds Racetrack, it offers a driving range and a three-hole course. The racetrack is one of the oldest in the United States, holding races Wednesday through Sunday. Shadow Cliffs Regional Recreation Area is 3 miles northeast and has an 80-acre lake open for swimming, fishing and boating.
