Affordability meets amenities
When the master-planned community of Tradition in Port St. Lucie was developed in 2003, restaurants, retail stores and countless other amenities sprang up on the outskirts of the new development. “Tradition is where places like Target, HomeSense and the bigger stores and chains are. There’s so much over there,” says local Realtor Tiffany Graves, who has been representing transactions in the area for nearly a decade. “Of course, that’s why the HOA fees and taxes are extremely high.” The Hidden Oaks neighborhood, which sits on the eastern side of Interstate 95 from Tradition, is a much more affordable alternative that still provides easy access to all the commercial entities of its pricier neighbor. “In Hidden Oaks, you get all the benefits of what Tradition has to offer without paying those high fees,” says Graves.
Hidden Oaks offers more affordable living with no HOA fees, or HOA rules for that matter.
The Interstate 95 is the only separation Hidden Oaks has from everything Tradition has to offer.

Boundless retail and restaurants
A 2-mile trip west on Gatlin Boulevard brings Hidden Oaks residents to The Landing at Tradition and Tradition Square, two hubs of retail and dining activity. The Landing at Tradition is an outdoor mall with a variety of retailers, including Ross, Old Navy and Burlington. Golfers will find all the equipment they need at Golf Galaxy and pet parents can get all their supplies at PetSmart. Shoppers can also pick up any home necessities at Target in The Landing at Tradition. Across the street at Tradition Square, shoppers will find a Publix for all of their grocery needs.
There are also plentiful dining options in the area. For Taco Tuesday – or any other day of the week, for that matter – it’s hard to beat Taco Dive in Tradition Square. This self-described “hole-in-the-wall joint” prides itself on fewer items on the menu so they can be sure that those things are done well. And in case the name didn’t give it away, the only thing they do – and they do them very well – is tacos. Situated between The Landing at Tradition and Tradition Square is Nana Morrison’s Soul Food. The menu all made up of Nana Morrison’s original family recipes, and it’s all good old-fashioned Southern soul food. Pick your meat, sides, bread and dessert; it’s impossible to go wrong. And over in The Landing at Tradition, Clean Eatz Cafe offers options ranging from grain bowls with protein and veggies to wraps, sandwiches and burgers, all made to order with fresh, seasonal ingredients.
The Super Target in The Landing at Tradition just outside Hidden Oaks is a one stop shop.

Comfortable, well-built homes
Homes in Hidden Oaks are typically ranch-style builds, but many feature Floridian spins on the design. While there are plenty of traditional ranch-styles, buyers will also find contemporary interpretations that feature flat roofs and minimalist styling, gabled entryways and, of course, plenty of Florida rooms with pools. The median price of real estate in Hidden Oaks is $420,000, and buyers should expect to pay an average of $236 per square foot. A two-bedroom/two-bathroom ranch-style home can sell for $248,000, and prices can up to $740,000 for a five-bedroom/three-bathroom ranch-style home. “Homes in Hidden Oaks, generally speaking, were built between 2000 and 2005, and some are even newer," says Graves. “You can find properties here that are non-deed-restricted with no HOAs.”
While most homes in Hidden Oaks are single level, there are larger multi-level homes available.
Homes in Hidden Oaks come in a variety of styles, but the majority are Ranch style homes.

A park with a devilish attraction
Adjacent to Hidden Oaks’ northern boundary is Oak Hammock Park. Visitors to the park can enjoy the playground and picnic pavilion on the park’s 48 acres, or they can walk the 3 miles of trails that wind their way through oak and palm hammocks. The park also features two fishing piers and a boat ramp for launching into the C-24 canal, which flows into the St. Lucie River. Oak Hammock Park is also home to the infamous Devil’s Tree, which has a chilling backstory that makes it an essential stop on local ghost tours.

Neighborly neighbors and local events
Port St. Lucie has a small-town feel, and Hidden Oaks is no exception. "Everybody kind of knows everybody out there," Graves says. And with its proximity to Tradition Square, neighbors have plenty of activities to attend together. From neighborhood markets to food truck Fridays, there is always something happening at the Square. “The Fourth of July and New Year's fireworks displays are out of this world,” says Graves. “Tradition really has it all going on, so to live near there, in a place like Hidden Oaks, is ideal.”
