Riverland
Neighborhood in Port Saint Lucie, Florida
St Lucie County 34987
Newly built waterfront communities
Riverland is a newer neighborhood with clean-cut new builds neatly arranged in cozy subdivisions. These houses are architecturally simple and clean, often painted in soft colors like light gray, tan, yellow and blue. Some have palm trees in their yards, others have Spanish tile roofs and many have a charming multi-color brick sidewalk and driveway. Most of these houses are in planned communities, so residents typically have access to amenities like sports courts, clubhouses, manufactured lakes and pools. The median sales price hovers around $500,000, with listings starting at $400,000 for a two-bedroom single-family home and getting as high as $1,000,000 for lakefront homes. Compared to the real estate in the rest of Port St. Lucie, Riverland is an exceptional example of what a well-executed master planned community can be. “The scale of Riverland is on another level,” says Partlo. “It feels more elevated than the other communities in the area, and it’s drawing people from all over. They even have an option to stay for just a night or two to get a taste of what it’s like.”McCarty Ranch Preserve and short drive to Stuart Beach
Riverland has two public parks: O.L. Peacock Sr. Park and Woodland Trails Park. A considerable lot with a lake and dirt trail, Peacock Park is known for its hiking and shoreline fishing. It doesn’t have a playground or anything, just some benches, but locals like its simplicity and consider it a nice place to catch some quiet. Woodland Trails Park is more developed and family friendly. It has a covered playground, gated dog park and picnic tables under a pavilion. Next to Riverland sits the McCarty Ranch Preserve, a 300-acre lake system with trails for hiking, biking and horseback riding and options to fish, kayak and canoe. Many also enjoy its 18-hole disc golf course and take advantage of its tent and RV camping. The closest beach to Riverland is Stuart Beach, 18 miles east. Though it’s a public beach, locals like that it’s never crowded and doesn’t attract a lot of tourism. The area is well-maintained and clean, and lifeguards are on duty. There is free parking close to the beach.Riverland students attend Schools of Distinction

Port St. Lucie Parks & Recreation also offers community programming, like fitness classes for adults and sports for kids, and seasonal events like a holiday light show at Christmas time. On the second Thursday of every month from October through April, Port St. Lucie Parks & Recreation hosts River Nights, a night of free live music at Veterans Park at Rivergate. Just east of Riverland, the Paula A. Lewis Branch Library offers opportunities for kids and adults to get to know their neighbors, like story times, movie screenings and game nights.Easy access to Interstate 95

Port St. Lucie’s Area Regional Transit (ART) provides public transportation with eight bus routes and door-to-door transit options for eligible residents.Farmers market and major retailers
Riverland sits just south of The Landing at Tradition, a large retail complex with shops like Target, PetSmart, T.J. Maxx and DSW. There’s a Publix across the street from the center, as well as the Sunday farmers market Tradition Neighborhood Market, giving Riverland residents options for their grocery shopping. Several fast-food chains surround the center, like McDonald’s, Chipotle, Starbucks and Panera Bread, but there are also some casual local options. Poke Poke Sushi Bowl & Bubble Tea is a popular poke bar, and Taco Dive serves fusion tacos and rice bowls. On date nights, locals pick between the upscale Meating Street Seafood & Steakhouse, Pastaio Handmade Pasta & Pizza and Sake Too Japanese & Thai, and they’re sure to swing by Kiwlin’s Chocolates for a sweet treat after dinner.
