Verano, which means ‘summer’ in Spanish, is a fitting name for this neighborhood in West Port St. Lucie, Florida. Home to the PGA Village Verano, a luxury gated community, this all-inclusive kind of place, provides residents with everything they need, whether they’re trying to kick back and relax, or looking to get up and get active. From its newly constructed Spanish revival-style homes to its elegant arched entryways, Verano offers a menu of resort-style amenities that keep its residents happy.
“What makes Verano and Port St. Lucie so attractive is the affordability in relation to what you get,” says Diane Gault, a broker associate at Lang Realty. “Some of these homes would be $100,000 or $200,000 dollars more in other parts of Florida.”
Also located within the PGA Village Verano is the age-restricted community of Cresswind. Designated for seniors ages 55+ and older, this subdivision offers all the same amenities but with the age limits.
Custom-built Spanish revival-style homes
Most homes in the PGA Village Verano don Spanish revival-style architecture and have sold for anywhere between $350,000 and $1.2 million dollars, depending on the size and condition of the property. The PGA Village Verano offers 18 unique floorplans, with the two-bedroom houses ranging in price from $330,00 to $450,000, and the three-bedroom homes going for upwards of $740,000. Many homes here also feature lanais, or outdoor terrace areas, which are often screened-in to keep bugs out. Some residences also include backyard pools within their lanais. Prospective buyers should note that as a gated community, the neighborhood does require HOA fees.
