Classic historic homes and new traditional and contemporary houses are found in Humboldt

Portland area homebuyers who want a small town, historic homes and a vibrant artsy vibe, will find it in Humbolt. A semi-urban/suburbansuburban neighborhood with a compact but lively downtown, Humboldt’s neighbors are Piedmont to the north, King to the east, Boise to the south, and Overlook to the west. It’s less than two miles from the Willamette River, providing Humbolt with the amenities of downtown Portland and the cultural and outdoor assets of North Portland.

Locals in Humbolt visit nearby Cathedral Park, Forest Park or the Columbia River Gorge for water sports and waterfront attractions. Homes in Humboldt range from modest cottages and bungalows to renovated and expanded Craftsman-style and American Foursquare homes. Real estate is hot in Humboldt, and prices are at the top of the price range in the area. According to Realtor Darryl Bodle, with Keller Williams Realty Portland Premiere, who has sold real estate in Portland and Washington for 24 years, “Proximity to the popular Vancouver /Williams corridor and the Mississippi Avenue shopping district is a big reason buyers want to live here. It’s also a highly bike-friendly and walkable neighborhood.”
