Middle Hudson Valley neighborhood near major roadways and public transportation
Lauded for its scenery and accessibility, East Fishkill sits in the Middle Hudson Valley, known for its sprawling greenery and serene waterways. Dutchess County is rising in popularity as river towns like Beacon and Rhinebeck are becoming weekend getaways for Manhattan residents, making convenience close at hand for towns like East Fishkill. “East Fishkill is equidistance from the Harlem and Hudson Line,” says Ryan Sylvestri, a Dutchess County resident and associate broker with RE/MAX Town & Country. Sylvestri has been a licensed agent for 10 years. “It’s also minutes from the Taconic and 84, which leads to the Newburgh-Beacon Bridge to get you to the Thruway. The U.S. Route 9 shopping has a lot to offer.” East Fishkill is 18 miles from downtown Poughkeepsie and 68 miles from New York City, making it a desirable location for commuters.
Commute to New York City on the Hudson or Harlem Line

Large, modern homes on expansive lots
“East Fishkill is not too far out in the middle of nowhere. You can still get a 1- to 2-acre lot within a subdivision community on quieter roads where you can get privacy,” says Sylvestri. Homes in the New Traditional, Colonial Revival and split-level style are built back from winding roadways on large, manicured lots with no sidewalks. Home prices are based primarily on size and upkeep. Large, recently built or renovated homes containing three or more bedrooms and two or more baths range from $600,000 to $975,000. Smaller homes built between 1940 and 1980 with little to no updates containing three bedrooms or less and only one to two baths range from $275,000 to $500,000. “House prices are relatively affordable compared to Putnum or Westchester County,” says Sylvestri. The CAP Index gives East Fishkill a crime score of 1 out of 10, lower than the national average of 4.
