A rural neighborhood with historic origins and a community feel

Prague is a rural township named after the European city by Eva Barta in 1902. The community's history is rooted in the Czech community who first settled the area. Originally a farming and agricultural community, the neighborhood welcomed commerce and industry transformations at the turn of the 21st century. That being said, the residents of Prague have held onto their rural roots and have maintained the quiet, friendly nature of the community, thanks to nearby parks and community events. "It's like a hallmark community with hometown vibes and the Friday night football games."

Residential streets along West Main Street

Prague's downtown area is home to most of the community's homes, which can be found in the residential areas that break off West Main Street, its mainline road. Mature Caddo Maple trees are sprinkled around the ranch-style homes, typically sitting on less than one acre. "it is maintained and well taken care of community," explains Kimberlie Weldy, an agent with Premiere Realty LLC, who owned a business in the neighborhood for several years. "there is a lot of pride in home ownership." The cracked-paved roads transition into gravel and dirt when heading into the surrounding rural areas of the community, where cows can be seen grazing in cattle farms, and crop fields span for as far as the eye can see. The construction dates of homes in Prague span from the late 1800s to the early 2000s, with most built in the mid to late 20th century. Those looking to purchase a home in the neighborhood can expect a range from $59,000 for older three-bedroom homes to $425,000 for larger houses that sit on more significant plots of land.
