Miguel Luna Park, on the neighborhood’s south side, has a water park, a playground, a basketball court and a ballfield. Just south of Elmwood is Roger Williams Park, a lush 435-acre recreational hub for all of Providence. "The People's Park" as it's locally known hosts festivals, weddings and over 1.5 million visitors year-round. Nearby options include Lillian Feinstein Elementary, rated an overall C-minus on Niche and offers transitional bilingual instruction. The triangular-shaped Elmwood is bordered to the south by Interstate 95, to the east by major thoroughfare Broad Street and to the west by U.S. Route 1 for car access to other parts of Providence. Elmwood is a mostly residential neighborhood, but it has some culinary bright spots of its own. Apsara Asian Restaurant is a highly rated eatery serving southeast Asian dishes, including Thai hot and sour soup and steamed pork buns, while Raphael Restaurant offers Caribbean classics such as jerk chicken and oxtails. The Good Fortune Supermarket sells global groceries and rests at the south end of the neighborhood. Elmwood Avenue, also known as Route 1, serves as the western border of the neighborhood and its main street. Up and down the Avenue are boutiques, chain and local restaurants such as Subway or 401 Pizza, a bike lane, and several RIPTA bus stops that can take residents to points of interest throughout Providence.
