Meridian offers convenience and shared outdoor spaces
Meridian epitomizes the significant developments taking over Maricopa and Pinal counties. “It used to be that nobody wanted to live in Queen Creek, but it’s started to grow and widen with more homes, master-planned communities and grocery stores,” says Realtor Susan Bermudez of LPT Realty, LLC, who has sold homes in the region since 2012. Completed in 2019, Meridian is a master-planned area with various park amenities and an active homeowners association that hosts seasonal events. Accessibility is one of the greatest draws to Meridian, as elementary students can walk to school, and commuters reach freeways in about 5 miles via Signal Butte Road. The CAP Index Crime Score is also a 2 out of 10, significantly lower than the national average of 4.
The housing market consists of single-family builds on spacious lots
Properties here often have Spanish and Mediterranean architectural influences and were constructed over the past decade. Prices range from the low $400,000s to just over $1 million. Though Meridian has a community pool, many homes have their own private pools in spacious backyards. Residences also feature driveways and garages, as long-term street parking is prohibited. If approved by the neighborhood association, cars may park in the street on special occasions or for short periods.
The Mediterranean homes in Meridian showcase arched windows, stucco exteriors, and warm color tones that evoke the charm of coastal villas.

Neighborhood parks are right outside the front door or within 5 miles
Residents don’t have to search far to find outdoor activities. Community amenities, such as trails, a movie pavilion and a 5,000-square-foot pool, are available at various neighborhood park spaces. The public Las Colinas Golf Club is also next door, and Frontier Family Park, 3 miles away, has numerous athletic facilities, including an aquatic center, soccer fields and pickleball courts.
Students walk to school or take five-to-10-minute car or bus rides
Children are within walking distance of Katherine Mecham Barney Elementary and Faith Mather Sossaman Elementary, which both score A grades on Niche. “A lot of people move here for the centralized elementary schools,” Bermudez says. Queen Creek Middle and Queen Creek High School earn A-minus ratings and are within 1 to 4 miles. High schoolers can take dual enrollment courses through Chandler Gilbert Community College or creative classes at the Queen Creek Performing Arts Center on campus. Families have school choice within the Queen Creek Unified School District, which follows a year-round schedule.

Locals eat and shop at Queen Creek Marketplace
The area's central marketplace at the intersection of Rittenhouse and Ellsworth roads features dozens of retail and restaurant options. Stores include Target, Trader Joe’s and Ulta Beauty. Other shopping centers within a few miles have additional businesses and grocers, like Fry’s Food Stores and Safeway. Queen Creek Marketplace mainly offers fast-food restaurants or statewide chains, such as Barrio Queen. Prominent sit-down spots operate outside the marketplace, including Queen Creek Olive Mill, which serves farm-fresh food and sells homemade olive oil.

Commuters use the freeway system and navigate maps by 1-mile grids
Though cyclists and joggers frequent the streets of Meridian, most residents get around by car. The freeway system, made up of state routes 24 and 202, is about 5 miles away and heads toward Phoenix, 40 miles northwest. Understanding the county’s unique layout is essential when navigating the area. “We run on a gridline here, so when you look at the dark lines and squares on a map, they are each 1-mile increments,” Bermudez says. “It makes it a lot easier to figure out where things are and how far away everything is.” Traffic can get backed up due to the active railroad along Rittenhouse Road. Though Meridian does not lie in the direct flight paths of Mesa Gateway Airport, it’s only about 8 miles away, so residents may hear planes overhead.
Meridian’s wide roads and scenic desert routes make it a prime destination for motorcycle riders exploring Queen Creek and beyond.
The Route 30 Pine in Meridian operates with multiple departures during morning and evening peak hours, making commuting easier for locals.
