Cambria Heights
Single-families and a two historic districts
Residents have worked hard to maintain the area’s character and low rise housing, and white picket fences border small manicured front lawns. “The community in Cambria Heights has gotten very involved in keeping the area zoned for one-family houses. Two-family houses have been grandfathered in,” explains Chatter Singh, a local real estate agent with Keller Williams Liberty and Queens resident. “Most of the homes are brick Cape Cods, but you’ll also find some Tudors.” Row houses and detached homes with three and four bedrooms list for about $600,000 to $800,000. Similar properties in need of significant work are priced around $500,000. In 2022, the New York City Landmarks Preservation Commission designated two historic districts in the area, the 222nd Street Historic District and the Cambria Heights–227th Street Historic District.A main drag, Jamaican and Haitian cuisine

Meritta’s is a popular Jamaican and vegan spot in the area and Brasserie Creole is known for excellent Haitian cuisine. The Cambria Heights Library hosts community events and has a teen center.Gifted and talented and technical education

The Institute for Health Professions at Cambria Heights offers individualized career and technical education for students Grade 8 through 12 entering the medical profession. Niche gives it a B-plus rating.A local playground, new skate park and a Triple Crown track
Cambria Playground in the neighborhood’s southwest measures 4.6 acres and includes athletic fields, a splash pad, a European fairytale-inspired playground and spots for relaxing and playing chess. The Laurelton Parkway West Playground is to the south, and recently received $4 million in upgrades, including the installation of a skate park. For outdoor entertainment, Triple Crown horse racing venue Belmont Park is a mile to the north.A quick trip to JFK Airport and Long Island beaches
