Wilson High School earns a B-plus from Niche and provides an early college program that allows students to earn an associate degree or certification with their high school diploma.

The Grumpy Wiener is one of the handful of places to get food from in the neighborhood. The local hotdog stand and winner of the Best of the PeeDee Award in 2022 serves hotdogs with various toppings and baked goods, like cookies and brownies. Quinby residents are a short drive from Downtown Florence's restaurants and shops. Wholly Smokin' is an upscale barbeque restaurant receiving high marks for burnt ends and collard greens. Victors is a white-cloth restaurant in Hotel Florence serving upscale cuisine in what patrons describe as an elegant environment. Closer to home is KJ's Market for groceries and a deli/bakery.

Spaulding Heights Community Park is one of the nearest outdoor spaces to Quinby Estates, featuring a colorful playground, a paved walking loop around the park and a grassy area by the pond. Spaulding Heights also has historical significance to the area. "The park is located in one of the first brick home subdivisions for African Americans," says Nathan Dawsey, The Director of Florence County Parks and Recreation.
