Brookwoods
Lakeside subdivisions
Brookwoods is home to a few established subdivisions. One is the Five Lakes subdivision, named for the private lakes created alongside the neighborhood in 1965. The house styles vary, with a few English Tudors in the neighborhood, along with Colonials, Cape Cods and ranchers—all within a few blocks. The neighborhood’s 500 homes sit on spacious, well-maintained lots amid mature trees. Adjacent to Five Lakes is the newer Patriot’s Landing subdivision, offering spacious new builds with classic architecture on wide, curving streets. A clubhouse and community pool with an on-duty lifeguard are a few of the amenities provided to residents. Residents of Five Lakes and Patriot’s Landing share access to the lakes, paying a monthly fee of $40 to maintain them. It’s a small price for residents to pay for the ability to fish, kayak or canoe in the private waters. Meanwhile, Rock Creek Villas caters to the 55-plus crowd, with 60 ADA-friendly homes overlooking the Brookwoods Golf Course. Residents enjoy a clubhouse adjacent to a wildlife-protected nature area, two ponds with lighted fountains, paved walkways and a large gazebo. The homes are maintenance-free, all-brick exterior single-family homes. These single-story homes are designed with mobility challenges in mind, each home being ADA-compliant. Home prices in the area range from $265,000 to $800,000.Getting schooled in Brookwoods
