Affordable homes near Racine's industrial sector
Neighboring the industrial area holding the Modine Manufacturing Company and American Erecting and Iron Works, a handful of corner stores and Downtown Racine sitting less than 2 miles away, Hickory Grove blends suburban life with an urban atmosphere. Known by residents as Mitchell — after the schools within its bounds — Hickory Grove is attractive to homebuyers for its lower price points but also offers a short trip to work for manufacturing workers of its nearby industrial sector, says Kimberly Mann, Realtor with Real Broker LLC. “It also has easier access to public transportation, so you don’t really need a car to get to work from there,” she says.
The area has a long history of industrial development, contributing to the city's growth.
Racine's downtown features historic architecture and waterfront views.
