River Bluff is a small area in Racine with a mix of residential homes, condominiums and commercial spaces. The Root River flows through the community, and locals enjoy spending time on water activities. Along with nearby restaurants and grocery stores, residents also have access to more establishments in downtown Racine less than 3 miles east. “It’s near the Racine Country Club,” says Rosa Stong, owner of Becker Stong Real Estate Group with over 10 years of experience. “There are many golf courses near that area, and it’s close to the Prairie School, which is probably one of the finest private college-prep schools in the state.”

Compared to the downtown area, River Bluff has newer homes, mostly built in the 1950s and 1970s with Garrison and ranch-style architecture. Single-family homes are usually priced between $180,000 and $280,000. “Houses in this area have bigger lots than those near downtown,” Stong says. Properties are comfortably spread apart, and residents here can enjoy more yard space for gardening or lounging outside. Condos from the 1970s sell for around $180,000 to $200,000. The community is characterized by gridded residential blocks with tree-lined sidewalks and cars parked along the curbs.

The community’s pocket park, Robert G. Heck Park, has open green space and playground. Residents can take their pets to Karen A. Nelson Memorial Dog Park, which has large fenced-in areas for pets to play off-leash. Locals also have access to water recreation on the Root River, including fishing or kayaking. “There’s also the North Beach,” Stong says. ”It’s very famous, and families go there all through the summer.”

Public and private school options in Racine
Students in the area may attend Wadewitz Elementary School, with a C grade from Niche. The school offers a dual language program in English and Spanish for fourth- and fifth-grade students. With a C-minus rating, the K-8 Jerstad-Agerholm School provides business and consumer science education for middle schoolers. Horlick High School has a C-plus, offering Advanced Placement courses and career academies for health science, aviation and business. Serving students from prekindergarten through Grade 12, the Prairie School is a private, independent day school in Wind Point, about 3 miles northeast of the area. Events and festivals in downtown Racine
The city has many events by the water, including music festivals, holiday celebrations and the Racine River Fest, which takes place in August and features cardboard, rubber duck and dragon boat races. Public transit available and proximity to Milwaukee
The neighborhood is bordered by Batten International Airport on the north side. “It’s a very small private airport with smaller planes, so it doesn’t bother the residents,” Stong says. Commuters can take Interstate 94 or Pennsylvania Avenue to access Milwaukee, which is less than 30 miles north. Milwaukee Mitchell International Airport is just under 20 miles away, and Ascension All Saints Hospital - Spring Street is about 3 miles north. The city’s public transit system is provided by the Belle Urban System, with many bus stops near the community.
