Racine’s 11th Ward is a long-established neighborhood that mainly consists of rental properties needing varying levels of repair. “It’s one of the oldest parts of Racine,” says Kimberly Mann, Realtor with Real Realtors. “It’s an area prized by investors. There are a lot of renters.” Alongside its homes, the 11th Ward holds a small local park and a handful of corner stores.
19th-century homes, single-family and multifamily
The neighborhood’s homes were built primarily in the late 1800s and early 1900s, and the most common architectural styles are ranch-style homes, bungalows, Dutch colonials and American foursquares. While many homes are single-family units, the neighborhood also holds a collection of multifamily homes. Prices can range from $50,000 to $180,000, but Mann says higher prices are unlikely. “It would have to be in perfect shape, unless it’s a four-family house that’s great for investors.” The median home price is $121,000, up 20% from the previous year.
Larger American Foursquares are a popular choice for families living in the 11th Ward.
Many of 11th Ward's homes were build between the late 1800s and early 1900s.
